Albizia julibrissin

Albizia julibrissin produces deep-pink, silky, fragrant summer flowers with ferny leaves on its wide-spreading branches. It does not leaf out until very late in the spring, and it is an excellent choice for use as a shade tree. Albizia julibrissin is capable of tolerating heat and drought, and it flowers best when it is grown in full-sun. However, it has weak limbs that are susceptible to damage from strong winds, snow, and ice. Its seeds and seedpods are severely toxic to both humans and animals. Albizia julibrissin is easy to transplant. Albizia julibrissin is deciduous and native to southwestern and eastern Asia.
