Agonis flexuosa
Willow Myrtle
Agonis flexuosa is characterized by a pendulous habit and produces small, white flowers in the spring and summer months. It has long, slender, dark-green leaves and is drought tolerant once established. It can tolerate moderate coastal winds and is best suited for moist, sandy soils, but can adapt to other well-drained soils. Agonis flexuosa is an excellent option for use as a street tree as it responds well to trimming under power lines, and it can also be utilized for screening off areas to provide privacy. Agonis flexuosa is evergreen and native to the southwest of Western Australia in a subcoastal strip from just north of Perth, southward through the Swan Coastal Plain, then along the coast to outlying islands east of Bremer Bay.
