Acer rubrum produces large, glossy, dark-green leaves that change to a rich scarlet-red hue during the autumn season. It also bears small, red flowers in the early to mid-spring period. Acer rubrum is an excellent choice for streets, parks, or large gardens. It thrives in moist, well-drained soil and full-sun conditions, but it is also capable of growing in a range of soils, including sandy, heavy clay, peat, dry, and poor-draining soil.
