Acer platanoides ‘Autumn Red’

The leaves of Acer platanoides ‘Autumn Red’ exhibit a remarkable bronze-red color in spring, which gradually transforms into green during summer and eventually into a luminous orange-red shade in autumn. Its roots, which do not run deep, can cause upheaval in pavements and driveways. Despite this, Acer platanoides ‘Autumn Red’ is capable of withstanding air pollution and can be conveniently transplanted. While it thrives in damp and well-drained soil, it can also adapt to both dry areas that undergo intermittent droughts and wet sites that experience occasional flooding. Acer platanoides is deciduous and native to eastern and central Europe and western Asia. Acer platanoides ‘Autumn Red’ was developed in New Zealand.
