Acer palmatum ‘Osakazuki’
Japanese Maple
Acer palmatum ‘Osakazuki’ produces green-orange leaves in the spring, which later turn green during the summer season. Its leaves turn crimson-red during the fall. It thrives in moist, well-drained soils but may suffer from leaf scorch due to excess sun, wind, and drought. Nonetheless, it is more resistant to leaf scorch than most Japanese maples and is more tolerant of wind and drought. It is cold hardy and suitable for bonsai. Acer palmatum is deciduous and native to Japan, Korea, China, eastern Mongolia, and southeast Russia. Learn more about Acer palmatum. Acer palmatum ‘Osakazuki’ was developed in Japan in 1882.
