This maple is an impressive, spreading grower with gracefully drooping branches. The bright-green leaves are deeply lobed and finely cut. The leaves turn a brilliant orange-red in autumn. This maple prefers moist, well-drained soils but may suffer leaf scorch from excess sun, wind, and drought. It is cold hardy and a great choice for bonsai.
