Acer palmatum ‘Bloodgood’ has large, robust purple-red leaves that retain their color throughout the spring and summer. In the autumn, the leaves transform into a fiery crimson-red color. Acer palmatum ‘Bloodgood’ prefers moist, well-drained soils and may experience leaf scorch from excessive sun, wind, and drought. It is cold hardy and suitable for use in bonsai.
