Acer japonicum ‘Vitifolium’
Full Moon Maple
Acer japonicum ‘Vitifolium’ has a stiff, spreading branch structure and its leaves are similar to grapevine foliage. The leaves are light to robust green in spring and summer, and turn orange-yellow and bright red in autumn. Acer japonicum ‘Vitifolium’ prefers moist, well-drained soils in part-shade, and can grow in full sun but may experience leaf scorch in hot summers. It is vulnerable to damage from strong winds and new foliage can be affected by late frosts. Acer japonicum is deciduous and native to the islands of Honshū, Hokkaidō, and Kyūshū in Japan, and also southern Korea. Learn more about Acer japonicum.
