Paperbark Maple
The growth habit of this maple is upright and narrow. Its chestnut-brown bark peels in thin strips, uncovering cinnamon-red wood. Acer griseum produces leaves in late spring to avoid damage from strong winds. It displays stunning fiery-red and orange leaves in autumn. This maple thrives in moist, well-drained soils and can also tolerate clay soils, but does not thrive in drought or dry soils. It is also suitable for use in bonsai.
