The new growth of Acer buergerianum appears as a striking copper-red hue, which later turns green during summer. During autumn, the leaves turn into vivid shades of red, apricot, and yellow. Acer buergerianum thrives in full sun and requires well-drained soil. Once it’s established, it can endure windy conditions and is somewhat tolerant of drought. Acer buergerianum also has a moderate ability to tolerate coastal environments and can handle air pollution. It’s a great option for bonsai enthusiasts.
