At Leafland, we deliver trees and plants safely across New Zealand using our own dedicated trucks. Whether it’s a small home garden order or a large landscape project, our team makes sure your plants arrive in peak condition, on time, and ready to be planted.
We run regular weekly routes to major centres, increase runs in the busy season, and can tailor delivery for larger or special orders. Read on to find out how our delivery works, pricing, and how to book.

Freight Charges by Region
We keep our freight simple and fair. All areas have a minimum freight charge, but once you’re ordering more than a couple of trees, the cost is usually calculated per plant, which often works out more economical.
For larger orders (30+ trees), we sometimes offer special rates, especially when an order fills most of a truck.
Rural orders or locations far north of Auckland or south of Christchurch may require a custom quote — please get in touch for a freight estimate if your order falls in these areas.

How Does It Work?
Browse and Select
Explore our live online inventory to see what’s in stock, or use our Tree Finder tool to narrow down the best trees for your garden. Alternatively, visit our nursery during opening hours (check our website for opening hours) or contact our team for expert advice on selecting the right trees.
Place Your Order
Once you’ve decided on your tree(s), place your order online, over the phone, or in person.
We recommend ordering at least 10 days in advance to ensure availability and coordinate delivery or collection logistics.
We Deliver Your Trees
We ship to most locations in NZ 1-2 times a week using our own plant-specialised truck carriers with tracking available so you can be home to receive the trees. You’ll receive a notification when your order is near delivery.
We also offer pick-up options from our Palmerston North nursery.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book my delivery?
We recommend booking at least 1 week in advance. This gives us time to match your order with the right truck and ensure your plants arrive on schedule.
For larger orders or projects, pre-ordering early is best — especially during the busy autumn and winter planting season.
Can I request a specific delivery date?
Yes! For larger orders, we can often accommodate your preferred date.
For smaller orders, delivery depends on our truck schedule and how busy we are at the time. We’ll always let you know in advance if we can’t meet your requested date.
Do you offer free shipping on larger orders?
No — we don’t offer free shipping.
We focus on safe, reliable delivery rather than cutting corners on freight costs.
Do you deliver on weekends?
No — all Leafland deliveries run Monday to Friday.
Can you deliver to my site or home?
Yes — we deliver to home or site addresses, provided they’re accessible.
Some rural or remote locations may require a surcharge. We’ll quote these upfront.
Note: We don’t have depots nationwide, but in some cases we can arrange delivery to another site for pick-up (case-by-case).
How long does delivery take?
Delivery typically takes 3–7 working days, depending on the location. We ship to most locations in New Zealand 1–2 times a week using our own plant-specialised truck carriers with tracking available so you can be home to receive the trees. You’ll also receive a notification when your order is near delivery (i.e. 30 minutes to 1 hour out).
Can I pick up my order instead of having it delivered?
Yes, pickup is available from our nursery in Palmerston North by arrangement. Just select “Pickup” during checkout.
What if my trees arrive damaged or unhealthy?
That’s rare, but if it happens, contact us within 48 hours. We’ll replace or refund your order immediately. See our Terms of Trade for more information regarding guarantees.
