It ripens in early to mid-summer, and the leaves of Prunus avium ‘Dawson’ turn orange to red in the autumn. It produces white flowers in the spring, and pollination is done by Prunus avium ‘Stella’ and Prunus avium ‘Compact Stella’. Prunus avium is deciduous and native to Europe.
