Cornus kousa ‘Satomi’ is a vigorous grower and becomes smothered with large, flat, four-petalled, pink-red, star-shaped flowers in early summer, creating a beautiful display. Following the flowers, Cornus kousa ‘Satomi’ produces red, strawberry-like fruit that is relished by birds. During the autumn, the leaves turn into spectacular shades of red and purple, making for a striking display of colors. Due to its exceptional beauty and growth pattern, it is an excellent choice for a street tree. Cornus kousa is deciduous and native to East Asia including Korea, China, and Japan.
