Prunus serrulata ‘Shirotae’ is a strong-growing, wide-spreading, flat-top cherry with tiered, horizontal branches that grow as wide as its height. In mid-spring, Prunus serrulata ‘Shirotae’ produces large, fragrant, pure-white, semi-double flowers from white buds that are sometimes tinged with pink. The serrated green leaves of Prunus serrulata ‘Shirotae’ turn shades of yellow, red, and orange in the autumn months, adding a bright splash of color to the landscape. Prunus serrulata ‘Shirotae’ is an excellent choice as a shade tree due to its wide-spreading, flat-top growth habit.
