Metasequoia glyptostroboides ‘Gold Rush’ is a conical grower and has soft, ferny foliage. The cypress-like timber of Metasequoia glyptostroboides ‘Gold Rush’ is moderately durable. It prefers to grow in damp to wet sites. During the spring season, the foliage is a deep gold-yellow color and matures to green-yellow during the summer.
