Eucryphia x nymansensis ‘Nymansay’ is an erect grower with larger leaves and very large, pure-white, fragrant blossoms. It blooms from late summer to autumn and prefers cooler growing areas. Eucryphia x nymansensis is evergreen, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Eucryphia cordifolia and Eucryphia glutinosa. Eucryphia x nymansensis arose from a batch of garden-origin seed that was sown in 1914 at the Nymans garden in West Sussex, England. Eucryphia x nymansensis ‘Nymansay’ was one of these seedlings.
