Cupressus x leylandii ‘Leighton Green’ is a very fast-growing cultivar with naturally wide-spreading branches. It can be easily pruned into a narrow, dense screen, making it an ideal choice for privacy barriers. Cupressus x leylandii ‘Leighton Green’ always has fresh-green leaves that are soft to the touch. It is tolerant of moderate coastal exposure. Cupressus x leylandii is evergreen, not native to New Zealand, and a hybrid between Hesperocyparis macrocarpa and Callitropsis nootkatensis. Cupressus x leylandii was first hybridised in 1888 at Leighton Hall, which is located to the east of Welshpool in Powys, Wales. Learn more about Cupressus x leylandii.
